Let's start with dessert. . . . The one above is Christmas Prune Cake, the one at right Strawberry Delight and the one just below it Charleston's Lady Baltimore Cake.

Many of our homemade recipes can be concocted with homegrown agricultural products like those shown above, at right. And many of our finest cooks are learning their trade at South Carolina culinary institutes and courses, like that taught at Greenville Tech (below).

Of course, South Carolina is probably most famous for its seafood. Country Shrimp Boil (this column, bottom) is a sample temptation. The crawfish on ice (bottom right) are raised here.
