Sandlapper is a quarterly magazine focusing on the positive aspects of South Carolina. We look for articles and photo essays about South Carolina's interesting people, places, activities, heritage and cuisine. Sandlapper is intended to be read at those times when people want to relax with an attractive, high-quality magazine that entertains and informs them about the Palmetto state.
We consider for publication nonfiction articles and photo essays. Simultaneous submissions are not accepted— we presume an article or photo submittal is for our exclusive consideration, subject to terms under the "Payment & Rights Acquisition" section, below.
The editors consider articles of variable length, from approximately one to six magazine pages (400-2,400 words). Any approach the author chooses to take from standard third-person, first-person, impressionistic, etc. may be accepted. Humor is encouraged. Profanity is not.
