Sandlapper® is a quarterly magazine telling readers about the great things South Carolina has to offer. It covers South Carolina's people, places, culture and history. And it's been telling these stories since 1968!
Published by Sandlapper Society, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization, Sandlapper's goal is to promote the positive aspects of the Palmetto State via interesting articles and beautiful photographs. Sandlapper Society, Inc., was formed in 1994. The society has more than 9,000 members. More than 17,000 copies of the magazine are distributed quarterly, 4,000 of them third- and eighth-grade public school history teachers. Annual membership includes a subscription to the magazine. Most of our members are college-educated and have an average income of $45,000-55,000. The average member age is 50.
Many society members help us tell the South Carolina story by becoming patrons. Patrons are society members who give 10 or more gift memberships to others. Individual and small business patrons like to send Sandlapper to friends and relatives. Corporate patrons give memberships as a special "thank-you" to their clients or customers, or use the magazine as a recruiting tool to attract new employees.
Membership in the society costs $25 a year. Members receive four quarterly issues of Sandlapper Magazine and a membership card that entitles them to discounts off selected state attractions and off Sandlapper Society products.
